Quick Summary:
Trying out Honeydew EcoHot Natural Hot Cream was a confusing and annoying process and I give it an underwhelming 1 out of 5 star rating.
So I’ve already tried out a different version of this Honeydew Hot Cream in the past, which was the Honeydew Products Ultra Moisturizing Hot Cream.
It looks like EcoHot Natural Hot Cream is actually an older formula or version of this product.
I only say this because when you go on their website, they only have the Ultra Moisturizing Hot Cream.
I found this particular hot cream on the Honeydew Amazon page.
So let me get into why this whole experience was so weird.
It’s confusing because for whatever reason this product (which is essentially identical to the other) gave me zero results.
I rated the other version 2.5/5 stars and it wasn’t the best but I was happy with some of the results I got.
Whereas with the EcoHot Natural Hot Cream, I experienced ZERO results.
Which makes no sense because both hot creams have seemingly identical ingredients.
This hot cream is supposed to help with firming and tightening, muscle pain, signs of aging, scar and stretchmark removal, and smoothing and softening the skin.
That’s a pretty big list of potential benefits and I say zip, nada, nothing!
It even felt like my skin was a little more dried out than usual.
And not to mention, this application process is a pain in the butt.
You have to apply twice per day and wrap the area for better results.
Applying this hot cream is messy and cold and uncomfortable.
And it leaves you with a tingling sensation that lasts for hours.
It doesn’t burn like some other hot cream disasters I’ve tried, but it also doesn’t provide any relief or benefit and just ends up being annoying.
The cream itself also smells HORENDOUS.
It’s a supercharged menthol smell that lingers for hours and gives you a headache.
And basically, anyone within 3 feet of you can smell the powerful menthol odor.
It’s a cheap product for a cheap price.
I’m thankful they have a 100% guarantee because I’m very unhappy with my results.
I also don’t understand why this product was so different than the other version.
All in all, this hot cream is a total dud and a pass for me.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
The texture and feel of Honeydew EcoHot Natural Hot Cream is like a jelly, gooey concoction.
It’s cold and orange in color.
I consider it a gel-cream consistency and it’s very wiggly in the jar.
Application
I don’t like this application process one bit.
And to make matters worse, you have to apply it TWICE a day.
So it’s double the pain without doubling any pleasure. In my book, this is a lose-lose situation here, my fellow friends.
But here goes…
First off, for best results, it says to use this product after showering or on warm, wet skin.
I like showers but I don’t want to shower twice daily just to prep my skin for this cellulite product.
The directions say to apply the cream to the affected areas twice daily, rub in, and allow cream to absorb.
I also don’t like that this is an open jar that you have to dip your fingers into constantly. It’s just unsanitary and messy.
It says to wrap area of coverage to promote results.
Within a few minutes, your skin will start to tingle. And you’ll be freezing (I had goose bumps more often than not) and uncomfortable.
Make sure you wash your hands after use!
Drying Time
The hot cream dries really quickly.
It’s basically dry in 2 – 3 minutes.
But the problem with these hot creams/gels is that they FEEL wet forever because they make your skin tingle and it feels so cold.
And the tingling sensation is obnoxious and lasts for well over an hour or two.
Smell (in the jar)
YUCK! Honeydew EcoHot Natural Hot Cream has the strongest smell.
When you open the jar, you’re hit in the face with a nasty menthol smell.
It gives me an instant headache.
I always compare this smell to Vicks Vapor Rub.
It’s nice when you’re sick but not as a scent for your cellulite cream.
Smell (a few hours after application)
Much to my demise, the horrible smell lasts well over an hour.
Everywhere I went I could smell the menthol/mint odor.
And it clashed with every other smell I used or encountered throughout the day.
This smell is awful.
Short Term Results
I didn’t have ANY short term results after using this hot cream.
Usually you can see some short term results fairly quickly.
But I didn’t see any. :(
My skin didn’t feel soft or moisturized. It actually felt a little dried out.
And with hot creams, I typically see some sort of muscle pain relief (which is amazing since I have super sore muscles and back pain).
However, I didn’t experience any relief from that either.
Double bummer!
Long Term Results
So the disappointment continued the longer I tried this product.
The long term results were also nonexistent.
This product promises the world and says it helps with a ridiculous amount of areas like weight loss (lol), firming and tightening, scar and stretch mark removal, muscle pain, signs of aging, and smoothing and softening skin.
You obviously have to be reasonable with the results you’re expecting but I really just saw zero improvement.
It was a waste of time and money.
Ingredients
There are a whopping 27 ingredients in this hot cream and strangely enough the ingredients seem to be spot on to the other Honeydew Ultra Moisturizing Hot Cream.
Honeydew uses a variety of natural botanicals and essential oils in this product to help reduce cellulite, tighten skin, relieve muscle pain, nourish the skin, and fight the signs of aging.
I won’t go through each and every one but I’ll touch on some of the more notable ingredients here.
Organic Aloe Vera and Meadowfoam seed oil are rich in fatty acids and Vitamin A, B, C, D, E and may help soothe and soften skin by decreasing inflammation.
Calendula flower is used to prevent muscle spasms and is applied to the skin to reduce pain and swelling (inflammation).
Ginger Lilly extract, Ravensara essential oil, and White Camphor essential oil have anti-bacterial properties that may help prevent bacterial irritations and boost skin health.
There are a myriad of fruit extracts including Apple, Apricot, Tangerine, Clementine, Mango, Orange, and Grapefruit that are chock full of the antioxidant Vitamin C, which is very beneficial to the skin and helps brighten and fade scars.
Menthol, Rosemary, Spearmint, Capsicum Annuum, and Wild Oregano are all thought to be natural muscle relaxers that may aid in improving circulation and relieving muscle spasms.
Price
For this specific product on Amazon, it costs $12.85 for a 4 oz. jar.
So that comes in at $3.21 per ounce, which is super affordable and actually cheap.
If you buy the product, they also have a special offer if you go to honeydewproducts.com/free.
If you fill out the form and plug in your Amazon order ID from the purchase, it looks like you get a free full sized product.
I’ve seen a lot of companies do this on Amazon.
It’s a nice gesture but for this product, I really don’t think it’s worth it, even if you get a free one.
The price is cheap and the product is cheap and it’s a pass in my opinion.
Guarantee
As I’ve mentioned before, this EcoHot Natural Hot Cream seems to be a different version or formula for the same Honeydew Hot Cream product.
On their Amazon page, it says they have a 100% money back guarantee.
It doesn’t give any other information other than that, though. But at least it has one!
You can also see their guarantee on their website for all Honeydew products.
You can talk to one of their customer service representatives at (844) 754-6639 and they’re available from Monday – Friday 9am to 4pm EST.
Or you can email them through their contact us page or at support@honeydewproducts.com.
