Quick Summary:
Overall, New York Biology Anti Cellulite Treatment Massage Oil gets 3 out of 5 stars.
There’s a lot I really like about this massage oil but also a few drawbacks.
We know that facial oils are super beneficial for the face, so I was excited to try an oil for my body, particularly for cellulite.
I like that this anti cellulite oil uses really natural ingredients and actually only contains 4 ingredients.
It uses Grape Seed Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Lemon Oil and Grapefruit Oil, which all tout great skin and cellulite benefits.
It has a botanical, citrus smell to it that’s nice and refreshing but a little on the potent side.
The price is extremely affordable and it has a satisfaction guarantee through their Amazon page where you can get a full refund if you aren’t completely satisfied.
So, my biggest problem with this massage oil is the application and drying time.
Application is rather dreadful and super messy.
My product didn’t come with a pump, it was just a screw off top that had an opening about the size of a nickel.
This made it VERY hard to regulate the amount of oil that came out and oil itself is quite messy.
It was really hard to manage all the oil on my body and I tried to massage it in but it took forever.
It then took a great deal of time to actually dry, so I felt like I was a walking oil slick.
Luckily, all of the mess was totally worth it.
My results were above average.
Short term, my skin felt super nourished, soft, and smooth.
Long term, it definitely helped with the appearance of my cellulite and my legs and bum were more toned and firm.
So overall, I think this anti cellulite massage oil is better than your average cellulite product.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
New York Biology Anti Cellulite Massage Oil is a clear, liquid oil that’s very slick.
Application
Application was a total pain in the backside.
And unfortunately the bottle doesn’t give very many details or instructions on how to use such as how often to apply.
It says to apply the oil to damp skin after showering or taking a bath because this helps lock in moisture.
It also says oil applied to dry skin will coat it but not penetrate it.
Last, it states to massage the oil into the skin until it’s absorbed.
What I personally did was after taking a shower, I’d turn the water off but stay in the bathtub.
I’d lightly dry off so my skin was damp but not soaking wet.
For some reason, my bottle of massage oil didn’t come with a pump as shown in the picture…
I’m not sure if this was a mistake or if all the bottles just come with a screw off lid.
Unfortunately, the opening to the bottle is about the size of a nickel and oil comes flying out.
This made the entire process super messy and cumbersome.
I ended up wasting a lot of the product because it would drip through my hands.
A little goes a LONG way with oil, so I ended up feeling like an oil slick without being able to regulate the amount of oil that came out.
I tried massaging in until it was fully absorbed but it felt like forever.
Drying Time
The drying time takes forever with this oil.
It ends up taking about 45 – 60 minutes for it to fully dry.
That’s pretty ridiculous!
Smell (in the bottle)
This product has a very strong smell in the bottle!
It has a potent Eucalyptus and Citrus smell.
You might get a headache if you directly smell it for too long.
Immediately after applying it, the smell is still very strong, however I found it to be relatively refreshing.
Smell (a few hours after application)
A few hours after you’ve applied the oil, you’re left with a mild botanical smell that also slightly reminds me of a medicinal scent.
It’s not bad but you can definitely smell it for a while but the scent eventually fades away completely.
Short Term Results
The short term results were really good with this product.
After just a few days, my skin was noticeably softer, smoother, and moisturized.
My skin felt healthier and very hydrated and supple!
Long Term Results
I was pleasantly surprised with the long term results of this massage oil.
After a few weeks of use, I noticed some definite improvement in the appearance of my cellulite.
My problem areas, which are my bum and the back of my thighs, looked firmer and more toned.
My legs and bum felt smoother and had a healthy glow to them.
As we mention time and time again, no cellulite product will 100% erase cellulite altogether but they definitely work to diminish and improve the overall appearance of your problem spots.
Ingredients
This massage oil contains only 4 ingredients.
These ingredients include: Grape Seed Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Lemon Oil and Grapefruit Oil.
I really like all of these natural ingredients and each has their own unique benefits.
Grape Seed Oil has astringent qualities that are suggested to tighten and contract the skin. It’s also very hydrating and regenerative, two qualities that may help the appearance of cellulite.
Eucalyptus Oil has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe irritated skin and also gives a cooling, refreshing tingling sensation that may ease tension and stress.
Lemon Oil is a great addition because it’s believed to improve the circulatory system, increase microcirculation, strengthen vascular tissue, and diminish the appearance of varicose veins.
Grapefruit Oil is another potential cellulite buster because it’s thought to stimulate metabolism and help break down fat and cellulite. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that nourish and protect the skin.
Price
I bought this product on Amazon for $14.95, and if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can get free shipping.
It comes in an 8-ounce bottle and works out to $1.86 per ounce.
I’m super happy with the price of this cellulite product!
It’s extremely affordable and much cheaper than your average cellulite solution.
This price is actually one of the lowest I’ve seen.
Guarantee
So, it looks like there’s a satisfaction guarantee for this product but let me give you the low down.
The New York Biology website is currently down (and doesn’t seem to be coming back up any time soon), which I find very strange and slightly concerning.
The main way you can shop for their products is through Facebook, which leads you to their Amazon page.
On the Amazon page, it does say that you can try it risk free and if you’re not completely satisfied they will give you a full refund.
This is great news!
However, it doesn’t give a lot of details such as a time frame.
If you’re looking to return the product, check in with the customer service team to get the full details and instructions.
