    Quick Summary:

Nu Skin Dermatic Effects Body Contouring Lotion is one of the best cellulite creams we’ve tried thus far.

It’s got some unique ingredients that have been shown to help with cellulite and smooth the skin.

The smell of this one is pleasant and it makes skin feel smooth almost as soon as you put it on.

Longer term, it nourishes and moisturizes the skin, and sets the stage for reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Also of note, this lotion has honey extract, which serves as a very mild exfoliant.

And exfoliating is one of those things that’s overlooked when it comes to treating cellulite.

So overall there are a lot of things we like about this lotion!

    Detailed Opinion:

    Texture/Feel

Nu Skin Dermatic Effects Body Contouring Lotion comes out of the tube as a thick, white cream.

It actually has a bit of texture to it– it’s a tiny bit lumpy.

    Application

Despite this cream being a little thick, it goes on really easily.  And blending it in was a snap…

It glides over the skin very nicely and absorbs quickly.

    Drying Time

Nu Skin Dermatic Effects dried very quickly considering how moisturizing it feels.

We were actually surprised by how fast his one dried.

Within a few minutes, there was very little “wet” feeling.

    Smell (in the bottle)

Like most cellulite creams, Nu Skin Dermatic Effects Body Contouring Lotion has a very strong citrus smell to it.

Usually, when this type of fragrance is combined with menthol, we don’t like the smell.

But this cream doesn’t have any menthol in it, and smells really good!

Smell (a few hours after application)

After an hour or two, the citrus smell had fallen off quite a bit.

It turned into a very slight, very nice smell.  It definitely gets an A+ in this area!

    Short Term Results

The short term effects of Nu Skin were mainly seen in how smooth this lotion made my skin look and feel.

It really didn’t give that temporary “instant improvement” you sometimes see, but that’s not really what we expect from a cellulite cream.

Short term, we want it to moisturize and nourish the skin, which sets it up for a reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

This one does that very well…

    Long Term Results

We really like the long term effects we saw on our skin and cellulite with longer term usage of this product.

Our skin started feeling really smooth and healthy.

And the appearance of cellulite began to diminish after about 2 weeks of regular applications.

Like we always say, cellulite creams aren’t an overnight fix that magically get rid of cellulite, but this is one of the rare products that can have a noticeable effect over time.

    Ingredients

Nu Skin Dermatic Effects Body Contouring Lotion has 33 ingredients, which is on the lower end of the spectrum (which we like).

It also has a few ingredients that are unique to most cellulite creams and treatments out there.

One, Ilex Paraguariensis Leaf Extract is a methylxanthine similar to caffeine found in coffee (and many cellulite creams).

Methylxanthines have been found to break down fats which can help tighten the skin a bit.

It also contains honey extract, which is a very mild AHA (alphahydroxy acid).  That can help with exfoliation– one of the keys to smoother and better-looking skin.

    Price

Dermatic Effects costs $48.75 for a 5 ounce tube.

That works out to $9.75 per ounce, which is on the lower end of what most cellulite creams cost.

    Guarantee

This product comes with a guarantee, but it’s very convoluted and difficult to take advantage of.

You have to sign up for their “autoship” program, try the product for 90 days, take pictures of yourself with a newspaper to prove the date, and on and on.

They’d be much better off just saying they don’t have a guarantee versus subjecting consumers to the ridiculous steps needed to actually use the guarantee.

We like almost everything about Dermatic Effects- their silly guarantee is one thing we don’t.
