    Quick Summary:

Sephora Firmness Boosting Body Moisturizer gets 1 out of 5 stars from me.

I’m totally disappointed in this product.

There’s honestly nothing I like about it.

The smell of it is SO strong and gave me the worst headache.

It smells like an overpowering citrusy perfume.

The application process is a mess and unsanitary because you have to constantly dip your fingers into the jar.

The product stays sticky on your skin (even though they specifically say it won’t) and takes forever to dry.

It left my skin itchy and irritated and eventually dehydrated my skin.

It gave me zero improvement with my cellulite and even made my skin worse!

It says it’s also a moisturizer on top of a cellulite product but it does neither of those things.

    So disappointing!

I definitely don’t recommend this product at all.

    Detailed Opinion:

    Texture/Feel

Sephora Firmness Boosting Body Moisturizer comes out of the jar as a white cream.

It’s thick but slightly more malleable like a lotion.

It feels cool and slick on the skin but also sticky… : (

    Application

    Application isn’t fun.

The directions say to apply a generous amount all over your body and massage in circular motions until fully absorbed.

Also, it says to do this once daily for optimal results.

I found the whole process messy and unsanitary.

You have to dip your fingers into the jar over and over again, which is kind of nasty to me.

    Drying Time

The drying time takes about 10+ minutes.

That’s if you use a modest amount.

The directions say to use a “generous” amount all over your body.

When I used more, it took forever to dry.

The cream is thicker and hard to absorb.

It also leaves you feeling super sticky, which is such a pet peeve of mine!

    Ironically, the label touts that it’s a non-sticky formula…

    That’s definitely not the case!

    Smell (in the bottle)

The smell in the jar is super strong.

It’s a citrusy smell but with a very potent, perfume punch to it (try saying that 5x).

    I hate the smell.

    It’s just too overpowering.

Smell (a few hours after application)

Unfortunately, even a few hours after application, the smell was awful.

It stays so strong and pungent.

I wanted to go take a shower and get the smell off me.

It gave me a massive headache.

    Short Term Results

So first off, my skin felt softer.

But then after a few uses, it started irritating my skin.

It wasn’t horrible but it definitely didn’t feel good.

It left me with itchy skin.

    Long Term Results

My long term results were bad.

I saw zero improvement with the look and feel of my cellulite.

Not only that, but it actually made my skin worse.

My skin felt dry and dehydrated.

The product uses alcohol and that may be one of the culprits.

    Just not good!!

    Ingredients

Sephora Firmness Boosting Body Moisturizer only has 2 active ingredients that they use, which are caffeine and red algae extract.

Caffeine is pretty popular in cellulite creams.  It’s thought to increase circulation and breakdown fatty deposits that give the “orange-peel” look.

Red Algae Extract doesn’t have a much, if any, backing that it actually helps the appearance of cellulite.  It’s believed to increase collagen levels, which is thought to help with the overall look of skin.

Overall, not an impressive ingredient list…

    Price

A 15.8 fl oz jar of Sephora Firmness Boosting Body Moisturizer is $15.00 on their website.

It works out to only $1.05 per ounce.

That’s definitely one of the least expensive cellulite products I’ve tried.

You get a ton of product for a cheap price, but you get what you pay for!

I’m all for a good deal but not if the quality is lacking.

    Guarantee

Sephora isn’t super clear about their guarantee.

The site says you if you’re not completely satisfied with an online purchase or gift, you may return your U.S. or Canadian purchase in stores or by mail.

That’s about as detailed as I could find.

It doesn’t tell you a time frame or if you get all your money back or store credit, etc., which would be helpful to know!
